Current Treasurer: Nicole Goolsby | Rion Homes
Nicole has been involved in the new home real estate industry for over 20 years with a broad spectrum of experience ranging from financing to sales to construction. Her construction experience as a residential builder began in 1996 with a local land development and production building company. In 2000, she became a NC licensed General Contractor and founded Rion Homes a small volume building and remodeling company.

Nicole is originally from Canada but has spent the majority of her life in the southeastern United States. As an economics major from the University of Richmond, she strives to operate in a business environment based on integrity, honesty, and trust. Being a female builder and the mother of three, she puts exceptional effort towards making a house a home and providing a rewarding building experience for her clients.

Nicole has been involved in many homebuilder committees at the local, state and national level. Currently she chairs the Residential Construction Performance Guidelines 4th Edition work group and serves as Chairman for the NAHB Single Family Small Volume Builder committee. Nicole is the 2009 VP for the Lake Norman HBA and sits as a State and National Director. She is a member of NAHB Remodelers and past chair for the Lake Norman Remodelers. She was the NCHBA 2003-2004 Region VI Vice President. Nicole is a NAHB Life Spike and has been involved with NAHB and the Professional Women in Building for the over 10 years. She has served as the NCHBA State Women’s Council President, the Lake Norman Women’s Council President. In 2006, Nicole was Chairman for NAHB Women’s Council - the professional women in building. Though building, volunteering and HBA activities keep Nicole pretty busy, her number one and most rewarding job is being mom to her three children William, Junior at NCSU, Ellyn, Freshman at UNC and Devon, 6th grader.
Membership Chair: Brian Tarle | International Kitchen & Bath
Brian is president of International Kitchen and Bath, and has over 30 years experience in the building and remodeling business. He started out working on a residential framing crew at 16, then progressed through most of the trades needed to build a home, but always enjoyed building cabinetry the most. After graduating from Penn State University with a Business Degree, he joined forces with an architect in Boston, Mass., and began an interior design/build firm that specialized in kitchens and bathrooms.

Brian started International Kitchen and Bath in 1989, and over the past 20 years has done projects from the state of Maine to Acapulco, Mexico. Brian and the designers at International Kitchen and Bath have won numerous design awards including the NC State “Stars” award and “Best of the Lake” for the past 5 years. With a showroom located in Davidson’s Sadler Square for the last 18 years, International Kitchen and Bath is able to show clients many different options for cabinets and finishes. We are a licensed general contractor and licensed plumber in the state of NC.

As a resident of the Lake Norman area for 22 years, Brian has also been involved in many community events and organizations, including the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce, the Mooresville/South Iredell Chamber of Commerce, and the Business Leaders of Charlotte.

Public Relations: Duane Johns | Advanced Renovations, Inc.
Duane Johns is co-owner of Advanced Renovations, Inc. He is actively involved with industry trade organizations and is a strong advocate for professionalism in the remodeling industry.

Duane also freelances with web design and graphic design. He enjoys time with the family and just about all outdoor activities.
Events: Geoff Bowen | EFC Builders
Geoff has been the driving force behind EFC Builders’ dynamic growth and sterling reputation since its inception in 1996. He is also the qualifying party for the general contracting license EFC’s corporation holds.

Prior to devoting his full-time efforts to EFC Builders, Bowen was the national alliance director for KPMG Peat Marwick Consulting. In addition, he spent 10 years with General Motors as a manufacturing engineer and another 10 years managing his own manufacturing company, Nu-West Products, Inc. This engineering and manufacturing process experience helps Bowen manage multiple construction projects and enables him to use CAD software to layout customers’ home plans, make modifications to existing plans, and design renovation projects to be built by EFC Builders.

In addition to his responsibilities with EFC Builders, Bowen is active in various non-profit and professional organizations. He is a member of the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce, the Mooresville-South Iredell Chamber and the Lake Norman Home Builders Association where he is a Charter Member and current Chair of its LKN Remodelers council. Geoff is also a charter member and the Secretary of The Rotary Club of Troutman, a new Rotary Club that chartered in Troutman, NC in 2009.

Bowen earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from General Motors Institute of Engineering and a master’s in business administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He maintains an Accredited Master Builder (AMB) designation from the North Carolina Home Builders Association (NCHBA), and holds Certified Green Professional (CGP) and Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) designations from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).

Geoff lives on Lake Norman with his wife and business partner, Deborah. An avid skier and boater, Geoff loves to spend time on the water with his five adult children and five grandchildren.
