The Lake Norman Remodelers are dedicated to enhancing the remodeling industry for consumers, remodelers and suppliers. Through education, networking and professionalism, the Council strives to set the benchmark of integrity and credibility for the remodeling industry in the Lake Norman and surrounding areas. The members of the Remodelers Council are passionate about their industry and raising the standards for all. The Remodelers Council is also committed to giving back to the community. We continue to work with the NC Wildlife Federation to help replace wildlife habitats and we support Our Towns Habitat. We believe strongly that building solid relationships helps build a strong industry in our community.

ATTENTION - HELP NEEDED

LKN Remodelers is considering volunteering to work with Habitat in Mooresville on one, or possibly two, Saturdays in November.

We are proposing two dates, Saturday the 13th, or Saturday the 20th, from 7:30am to 3:00pm.  The work could involve things like building subassemblies, framing exterior walls, installing interior walls, and installing decks and safety devices.

Our Projects Chair (as well as Vice Chair), Ben Mandon, is managing this community work.  You can reach Ben at ben.mandon@andrewroby.com, or (704) 334-5477.  Please email the following information to Ben at your earliest convenience:

Name, email address & phone number?
Willingness to participate?
Which date is preferable to you?

With enough interest on at least one of these dates, we shall commit to Habitat and get it scheduled.

We look forward to hearing from y’all soon
J.

Regards,

Geoff Bowen

The 2010 Island Cleanup was a blast. Thanks to everyone that volunteered their time to come out and help clean up our adopted island.
FYI

I’ve noticed some articles and comments the past week that are misleading to our builders here in NC.  Please see the email below and particularly the highlighted section.  North Carolina’s rules have not been altered with the EPA’s recent announcement.  There was an article in the Observer that made it sound like renovators in NC had until 9/30 to register for a class or 12/31 to be certified.  Not so.  I will forward any additional information I find.  I have a couple calls out to ask some questions.  I will forward on anything new I learn.  Nicole

The world changed for remodelers on April 22, 2010, the day that the Lead: Renovation, Repair and Painting regulation took effect. Remodelers now have to change the way they work in pre-1978 homes and child-occupied facilities. Learn how the removal of the Homeowner Opt Out provision may affect your business, what you need to do if you are not yet certified, how to market yourself as lead certified, and answers to the many questions remodelers continue to ask about how to work with the regulation.
